Bayard's Cove, Dartmouth

Bayard's Cove is the oldest part of the harbour in Dartmouth. It is lined with colourful and interesting old cottages, and has a lovely cobbled quayside. The Mayflower anchored here prior to her voyage across the Atlantic to the New World in 1620.

I took this photo from a boat on the River Dart and love the way the colourful cottages rise in tiers above the cove
