Scotland - Assynt

Assynt, an area of amazing natural beauty, is found on the North West of Scotland, north of Ullapool, with the fishing port of Lochinver at its heart. It is my favourite part of Scotland, with its remarkable mountains, Quinag, Canisp, Suilven, Cùl Mòr, Stac Pollaidh (Stack Polly), Ben More Assynt, that appear to leap to the sky from the bogs and rocks of the landscape.

I love Assynt, it's a very special area. This is a view of Suilven in the distance with the rocks of the bay of Achnahaird in the foreground, taken on a clear, sunny January day.
